County Opportunities

For young members: Guide and Ranger members aged 14-18 who want to travel the world with Girlguiding should be encouraged to attend the County International Opportunities Day, held each year in the autumn term. The International Leadership Team have a day of activities and team challenges to allow them to get to know everyone. After successful completion, the team offer places on County trips for the next year and offer a small number of girls the opportunity to attend Anglia region selection. In recent years County trips have visited Ireland, The Gambia, Mexico, USA, India and the World Scout Jamboree. If you have members who are interested in international opportunities then watch for the International Opportunities Day information in the monthly mailout and on the events section of the County website.

Applications for 2019 trips are closed. Applications for 2020 are opening soon…

For adults: International Opportunities for Leaders Poster We are always looking for adults to lead and assist with groups going abroad from any section.  As well as having a fantastic experience you will also be giving our young members the opportunity to travel with Girlguiding, experience other countries, cultures and create life-long friendships. We usually ask for adults to express their interest in April/May, so watch out for information in the monthly mailout and website. If you just want to know more, then please get in touch with the County International Advisers at any point in the year. We are fortunate to have leaders in place for 2020 trips, but have an exciting programme lined up for 2021 and opportunities for additional volunteers – so what are you waiting for?
