Incident hike

Are you ready to put your navigation skills to the test? Join the walking team for an exciting 8k cross-country trail through the beautiful Mardley Heath area on Saturday 22 May 2027!

This is the perfect chance to use that training you’ve been practicing and enjoy a brilliant day out in the fresh air.

Key event info

• Start/finish: Welwyn
• The route: An 8k trail, primarily on public footpaths.
• Timing: Staggered starts. Expect the hike to take approximately 3.5 - 4 hours.

Team and leader info

• Teams: 4 (min) to 8 (max) girls per team.
• Guides: Must have at least one qualified leader per unit (plus parent helpers to meet the 1:12 ratio).
• Rangers: Very welcome to attend and do not need to bring a leader with them.

• Price: £5 per girl (leaders are free!).
• Forms: Information and consent forms are required. Units must arrange their own home emergency contact.
