Peak District adventure. Are you ready to conquer 1 of the most iconic ridges in the UK? The Herts walking team is heading to the heart of the Peak District for the ultimate test of stamina and spirit: The Edale Skyline. This isn’t just a walk; it’s a breathtaking challenge that offers some of the best panoramic views in the country. If you’ve been building your miles and sharpening your navigation, this is the milestone you’ve been waiting for.

The details

• When: Saturday 11 September 2027 (tbc)
• Where: Edale, Peak District National Park
• The route: a high-level circuit including Hope Cross, Win Hill, Mam Tor, and Kinder Scout.
• Who: open to experienced walking adults/leaders, young leaders and Rangers

Why take the challenge?

• Epic scale: tackle approximately 20 miles of rugged terrain and significant ascent.
• Peak perfection: cross famous landmarks like the Great Ridge and the Kinder Plateau.

Preparing for the Skyline

This is a strenuous walk. We recommend attending our level 1 walking weekend (June 2027) and our navigation training (March) to ensure you’re “Skyline Ready” by September, as well as additional training.
