Leader for World Scout Jamboree needed
Hertfordshire Scouts have kindly offered us places for the 2019 World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) to be held from 22nd July 2019- 2nd August 2019 in West Virginia USA. Dates spent away could be longer if the group decide to do additional travel before/after. We have been allocated 1 Leader space and are looking for applicants to lead our contingent.
The WSJ is the largest Scouting and Guiding event globally and happens every 4 years in a different location. There are up to 45,000 Scouts and Guides expected to attend and most countries from the movements will be represented. Further information can be found at: http://www.2019wsj.org/
This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Applicants should be: comfortable with camping (or prepared to become comfortable with it!), happy to meet lots of different people from all nationalities, excited about partnering with the Scouts (Scouting experience could be very useful here) and most of all well organised with a sense of adventure!
The Scouts would like our potential leaders to take part in their selection process, and they are holding 2 leader selection days at the 5th Potters Bar HQ, Furzefield Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire EN6 3BW.
Our preferred date is Sunday 16th July as it gives a bit more notice, but leaders who can’t make that can attend the alternative date on Saturday 1st July. The days are expected to start at 8.30 and could run until 18.00.
If you are interested in applying, please get in touch with Amy Gilbert at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will forward on the application forms and information
