In Hertfordshire there are 1,400 adults involved as well - as Guiders (unit leaders), Unit helpers or as Advisers using their specialist knowledge in outdoor activities, craft, first aid, administration, IT, accounts or public relations.
Everyone has a different reason for getting involved, but they all enjoy helping girls and young women fulfil their potential, and becoming a volunteer with Guiding brings many practical benefits.
It can provide a break from a busy home or work schedule, a chance to expand your horizons through new activities, or give you the opportunity to share your skills and expertise, make new friends, and try new challenges.
It's fun of course! But our volunteers are surprised to find out how much the Guiding experience can help them in both their personal life and their careers.
so come on - surprise yourself in 2007 by joining us!
